    Long and short same instrument

    Hello,

Imagine I have several strategies working in Forex. What happens if one strategy sells let´s say EUR/USD and other strategy Buys EUR/USD. Is that possible? or it will close out the positions?

I have the multi broker license, with two brokers is that possible?

    Thanks

    Sincerely

    Hello,

Each strategy instance will manage its own virtual position. If you had two strategies working on the same account, and strategy A went long, while strategy B went short on the same instrument, your actual account position would be flat, however the strategy will keep track of the position and manage it from there.

If they are running on different brokerage accounts, they will not close out the position.

I have read somewhere that nonUS Brokers will allow you to hedge your positions. I've thought about this strategy, but I think generally you will do better if you keep your longs & shorts separate(not at the same time). You might be able to make money this way scalping.
