MBTrading and Zen Fire LIVE

Hi there...

It does not matter in what order I connect MBT and a Zen Fire live data feed right?

I am using a live connection (not demo) on both MBT and Zen Fire. Here is what I am doing:

1. Connecting to Zen Fire first because I am wanting to use it for trading the Sim 101 account with my live Zen Fire data feed and you have to use the first connection to do that.

2. Connecting (2nd) to the MBTrading live data feed to trade live real money on one account and 2 or 3 other MBT demos that set up for me (which is NOT the Sim 101 NT demos by the way...each demo has its own account number). One of the accounts is live money though on this one.

Am I ok here with having the connection set like this and the order etc? Do you see any issues?

Hello Greg,

I do not see any issues so far. When connected to multiple connections simultaneously in NinjaTrader, you will receive data from the first connected connection on most occassions. Only when the first connection does not support a certain instrument type (stock, futures, forex, index), it will receive data from the second connection. The 1st Zen Fire connection does not have forex data and the 2nd MBT connection (both live) does not have futures data. When I did it this way, I did get some errors with my strategies and NT disabled them. I am not sure it is because of the connection order or some other reason.

Do you think I need to connect MBT which is my live money feed first (I don't think I had a issue when MBTrading was connected first and was the only connection)?

However, this would then not allow me to trade futures with my live Zen Fire data feed on Sim 101

So you know, I trade forex with MBTrading with live money on this particular MBT trading connection at the moment, but only want to trade sim 101 with the live zen fire feed with this particular setup.

Please let me know your thoughts here because one data feed does not support the other (one is forex and one is futures).

MBTrading supports all 4 instrument types, so when connected to MBTrading first, all data is received from them. If you do not have futures data enabled, you will not receive futures data even if you connect to Zen-Fire second.

I am not sure why your strategies were disabled and if it is related to the connection sequence. If you connect to Zen-Fire first and MBTrading second, you will receive futures data from Zen-Fire and forex data from MBTrading.

You could run NinjaTrader on two computers as well if possible.

Would the secondary individual MBT account number accounts for demo have anything to do with it?

Is there anything you could look at to determine what was the cause of the strategies disabling or having errors etc?

Please send me your log and trace files. Go to Control Center-->Help-->Mail to Support in NinjaTrader. Put 'Att Jason, MBTrading and Zen Fire LIVE' in the subject field and enable 'Log and trace files'.
