You are correct in understanding. Unfortunately, it will be restored next weekend.

so if i go TOOLS/OPTIONS/DATA
Get data from server (if available), if that is selected and no data is available then it becomes destructive as it will overwrite whatever data you have with nul?
if i select save chart data as historical will it save the data i have accrued till now today or will it only start to save it from when i select the option?
i notice that the 2 options above can be selected simultaneously

Yes, unfortunately it will overwrite with the missing data. I suggest to avoid reloading historical data in the chart.

If you select this option, it will start to save real-time data as historical data from that point on.
