How to get Index and industry charts?

Hi everyone

Forgive me if this is a really silly question.

I have been using NT for about a week now and I have managed to get charts of individual stocks but I want to also look at charts of various indices and industry groups.

For example:

Look at the chart for the FTSE 100 and then look at the charts of the industry groups that make up the FTSE 100 such as oil and gas, biotech, etc

Any help would be much appreciated

You can get data for index'es provided you data provider provides data for it.

At the moment I've just been using end of day data from Yahoo.

If in your experience yahoo does not provide index and industry data, can you recommend me a data provider that does?

Unfortunately, Yahoo offers equity data only. I'd recommend checking the Kinetick EOD feed for index data.

Thanks for letting me know. So if I wanted to actually load the index chart what do I need to do? I have connected to KinetickEOD.

Also how would I load industry charts?

Hi RKHG888,

Please first add the index you wish to chart to the Default instrument list by following the steps outlined here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...ment_lists.htm

After adding the instrument to the default list, create a new day chart using the File > New > Chart menu.
