Simulator VS Reality

Trading in your live account and the Sim101 account can be close, however order execution can differ a bit depending on latency etc.

You can set the Delay Comm, Delay Exchange variables to control it somewhat from Tools>Options>Simulator tab.

Perhaps a better question would be, if you test a strategy in simulator mode and then apply it in real time, how accurately does it reflect simulator mode?

Hi Folks

I will be trading full time this January, I plan to use IB as my broker. I have been using Fidelity and Scotts Trade but their platforms & executions are slow. After research, I selected Ninja Trader for my new platform and have been learning the software in simulator mode with kinnectic (sp). IB says their executions are in nano-seconds. I will be day trading large cap stocks -- can anyone tell me their experience with IB and how closely the simulator reflects actual trading with them.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
