Can't Enable Strategy on Chart Template

I am using some chart templates that don't give the option to load strategies. Is there an easy correction for this without rebuilding the chart template from the ground up? Thanks.

Welcome to our forums - are you connected live and the ChartTrader panel disabled? Only then you could enable NinjaScript strategies on your chart.

Hi, is this still valid with today's version of NinjaTrader? Is it required to have a live connection just to be able to test a strategy? In my case I just want to debug a strategy to see if the code logic is working. I can't cause the strategy button is not active. Yes, I disabled the chart trader too.

This is so unfortunate cause on other platforms you can test/debug with or without a live account.

Welcome to our forums xmess7, yes for enabling a strategy from the chart you would have to be connected. Or as an alternative you may use the Strategy Analyzer that allows for backtesting and optimization.

As a free end of day datafeed you could just use the readily inbuilt Kinetck EOD connection. Realtime data could be easily added as well, just see the link in my signature here.
