Instrument List

Hello,

Is there a way to order the instrument lis? When I add an instrument to the list, it goes to Default. I would like to create like a folder for FOREX, Futures, stocks, etc

Thank you for your post.

You can add instruments to other instrument lists with the following steps:

• Tools
• Instrument Manager
• Select a list from the drop down menu on the left or click New to create a new list
• Select the instrument you would like to add
• Click the < arrow to add the instrument to the list
• Click Ok

What about if I already had the instruments and now I have just created a new list? Is there a way to copy and paste?

Currently the instruments will need to be added manually and there is not an option to copy and paste.

I have forwarded this to our development team as a suggestion on how we can improve the NinjaTrader platform. Once this suggestion has been input into our tracking system I will forward you the assigned ID number for tracking.

Has thee been any progress on this issue? I would like to make a list for Forex pairs and US Futures, and I hope there is a smarter way than manually adding to the list!

And also what does the ###-### expiry on the Future contract mean? Is it the continuous rolling contract? I hope so, otherwise do I have to manually update the expiration on each contract after expiration?

Unfortunately, you still need to add instruments manually to instrument lists. It is not possible to copy/paste instruments. The suggestion is still on the tracking list.

Yes, "##-##" refers to continuous contracts.
