This would indicate you are connected to a data feed that does not support forex data.

Are you connected to any other connections than IB in NinjaTrader? If so, please disconnect those connection and see if this will make a difference.

Does it make a difference if you restart NinjaTrader?

I´m connected to the IB connection only.
Is it necessary to have checked "Trade currencies (FX)" in the "Connection options" if I want to display forex data? I have it unchecked...

That is correct, you will want to check the Trade Currencies (FX) option in your Interactive Brokers Connection Options.
