Directory error message - NY won't open

Hi guys

Earlier, I was running NT7 on my XP PC. I launched my IE browser (which I rarely do) and the whole system just froze. (First time this has happened I think.) I couldn't even bring up 'Windows Task Manager'. I had no choice but to 'pull the plug' so I could restart Windows.

Since this event, whenever I try to open NT7, I get the following error message:

"An error occurred while attempting to create a directory: C:\Documents and Settings\(my name)\My Documents\Ninja Trader 7\bin\Custom"

I rebooted and the same thing happened.

Any advice about how I can solve this problem will be gratefully received.

Hello arbuthnot,

Can you go to C:\Documents and Settings\(my name)\My Documents\Ninja Trader 7\bin and create a folder called "Custom" and then try to relaunch NinjaTrader?

If that does not work can you send me your log and trace files so that I may look into this.

You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.

The log file will be named "log.YYYYMMDD.txt" (Example: log.20120925.txt)

You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.

The trace file will be named "trace.YYYYMMDD.txt" (Example: trace.20120925.txt)

Send the files to support [at] ninjatrader [dot] com and put ATTN: JC with reference to this thread.
