Doubt about futures instrument selection

Hello,

I'm newbie on futures trading and I have a doubt about how to select a futures contracts from instrument manager.

If I search a certain type of futures contract (i.e. Soybean ZL) it appears. But, how do I select a certain contract that expires on a certain date. How do I know that I enter a position on the right one?

guillembm, you can check into our Instrument Manager under the Misc > Contract Months section and how it would define on which dates to use a certain expiry. Those would be the dates NT would use per default for the continuous contract charts.

Furthermore around rollover, traders typically monitor the daily volume of different expiries to judge when the volume rollover actually occured > when most of the volume / trades is done on the new front month.

You also want to check into the exchange offered contract spec closely for the contract's official trading calendar.
