Problem with generating Alert

Hi -
I am unable to generate Alerts as part of strategy execution (back testing) in Strategy Analyzer. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Can you please advise me.

Attachment has the test strategy (TestStrategyAlert.cs). This test sample is basically a modification of SampleMACrossover strategy with additional code for generating Alerts.

Also can you please advise if there is a better way to solve the following problem - What I would like to do is run a strategy end of day/end of week on a watchlist and have strategy generate a list of alerts (i.e., buy and sell orders) that I can review and place it manually. My strategies are multi-instrument strategies like sector rotation etc. So I cannot plot on the chart.

Alerts wont trigger in backtesting. Alerts will trigger in realtime only.

From help guide

* Calls to this method are ignored on historical data, it will only work in real-time.

Hi Joydeep,
Thanks. For strategies that work off daily bars (EOD data), how can I verify the alerts are working in real time?

Also I am curious on how do other users of ninjatrader currently generate list of buy/sell alerts from their strategy for review before placing orders manually.

Hello atrader123,
Instead of using the Alert you can use the Print fucntion to print out custom values in the Output Window (in Control Center goto Tools>Output Window).
