File That Stores Commisssion Data

Hi

I'm wondering which file stores the commission data for individual contracts. I reinstalled NT yesterday and rather than going through all of the steps to reset the commissions I'd rather just use the file from before.

And then if I don't have it still, I forgot where to look to set them for individual contracts. Thanks much.

Hello bce111,

Commissions setup per individual instrument are saved in the database. You can find the database at the location below:

C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db

It is listed as "NinjaTrader" and uses the .sdf file extension. It could be Windows lists the file as "SQL Server Compact Edition Database File" as well.

Thanks, Jason. I'll look for it in a bit. And where does it tell how to redo it in the manual? Not the one in the options tab, but the one through the instrument manager. Thanks.

It will direct you to the Commissions-tab in the Options menu. Commissions are setup the same in both locations.

Isn't it different because in the Instrument Manager you can set levels of contracts traded where the commission changes?

It is not different. You can setup the same commissions per individual instruments as in the options menu.
