Order location and safety.

I am using the latest Ninja Trader with Mirus Futures and Zenfire.

I am a chart trader and do not use the DOM.

If I do not use an ATM strategy , and manually enter an order to buy, and the order is
filled. Then manually enter a stop loss order to sell at some value. Do these orders
reside at my work station or or they with the broker's server?

In case of power failure or loss of internet connection are these orders safe with the
broker? Am I safe with this stop loss order?

If I manually move the stop loss order, again is the order safe with regard to power loss
or loss of internet connection?

Thanks for writing in and I am happy to assist you.

If the orders are in a working or accepted state then the orders are residing at the exchange or in the brokers server. In such scenario the orders will be live even if your PC is not running.

However please do note, the OCO functionality is simulated at your PC. If your stop/target orders are OCO'ed and if any one of them gets filled, then you have to call your broker and cancel the other order.

Thanks for your response.

Although your response is generic, it looks like the orders I described are safe
from power failure, computer failure, or loss of internet.
