Duplicate Machine Ids

Hello,

I have two users who are claiming to have the same Machine Id. Is that possible?! When I try to enter the ids into Vendor License Manager, I get an error saying there is already one there (which there is).

I verified with the user that it's the correct Id and they said that it is.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for your note.

There have been previous reports of users with the exact same Machine ID.

While these are rare cases, this is what the 3rd Party Licensing tool under the Help section is for, it allows you to specify an affix to the Machine ID.

If you have the Partner Vendor License Manager document, there should be a section on how to use this tool.

I have stopped using the automatic trials, after numerous issues with customers who had the same machine ID. There were even 2 customers, who had the same machine ID as my Hewlett Packard laptop.

If user are running NinjaTrader on preconfigured laptops, all identical laptops will have the same machine ID. I now only use individual IDs, which can be created by the user via Help -> 3rd Party Licensing by adding an individual code to the machine ID.
