how to get MachineID without starting NT7?

Hello,

is there a way to get the NT MachineID without starting NT? For Example: A Setupfile for an Indicator reads this ID directly for online validation. So it's not necessairy for the user, to insert this manually.
If Yes, where I get this ID? In registry?

This number is generated when NinjaTrader is installed, and is generated from various numbers unique to your Windows installation. Unfortunately there is no way to access it before NinjaTrader is installed.

Hello AdamP,

oh, there is a misunderstanding. I just write an Indicator for NT. So NT have to be installed before installing my indicator. I just want to know, if the machineID was stored on disk when installing NT. I just want to read this Number directly via my Setup-programm without runing NT.

I have discussed with my colleagues and they have said the only way to do this really would be to read from Log or Trace files in this fashion. I think you could try to use : Cbi.License.MachineId though.
