is bid/ask volume = time & sales volume

hello. i'm interested in volume studies and wondering if bid/ask volume is the same as time & sales volume. if they are different, what are pros/cons for each. is one or the other better suited to base a custom indicator on? i guess t&s would include trades between the spread, but i'm trying to identify if the volume is buying or selling? i'm aware of the buy/sell pressure and buy/sell volume indicators in NT already. i want to separate the buy/sell and write a different formula. thanks, jm

    Hello,

You should see the same volume in bid/ask data series as you see occurring at the bid/ask in the time and sales.
