where does one clik to view the actual date of expiry of a particular contract ?

poeds, the actual expiry date of the contracts would be listed in the contract specs on the exchange websites, for example - http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/equi...r_futures.html

The dates when we would be using a new front month in our continuous contracts (which is not the expiry date) could be viewed for each master instrument under Tools > Instrument Manager > go to the Misc section of the master instrument to see the rollover definitions set (you can change them as well to your liking).

Sorry I don't follow you - the rollover date in our Instrument Manager is easily seen and reviewed and the link to the contract exchange specs is also listed for each master instrument so a check is also conveniently possible - what would you be missing then please?

tools/instrument manager
hightlight 6e for example right click gives no response
double click gives instrument editor that has some of the spec of the contract
and a link to the cme home page that doesn't appear to give any specific contract info

Thanks for pointing that out poeds, checked into the 6E and our CME URL used will need an update to point to the correct page, I'll mark that down for our next update of NT.

The specs you see via double-click on the 6E master instrument under Misc are the ones NT will use for it's continuous contracts.

Bertrand, When looking at the Contract Months, what is the "offset"?

Also, to clarify, the Rollover date is the date that the listed Contract month starts trading?

Correct Tim, that's the roll into date.

The offset value is used to string the individual contracts together when using the back adjusted mode we have, this would avoid creating gaps across contract boundaries.

~Instrument Manager
~ double click desired instrument such as CL which brings up The Instrument Editor
~Select the MISC tab at the top of the Instrument Editor
~ Scroll to bottom under CONTRACT MONTHS Press the little three dots to the right
`This brings up contract months and click the next contract head of yours and it will say a roll over date
