Update Account interday - buying power

Hello NJ Team

I have a question about the Account:
When i have lets say a buying power of 1300$ and i bought and sold 1 contract worth 300 dollars, then the account shows that i have a buying power of 1000$ left. But when i am already flat the account is not updating to the new buying power (which would be 1300 +/- the gains or loss i made)
How can i automatically let the system update the account (intervall)?

Hello PeterPan,

The sim101 account updates properly in the Control Center-->Accounts-tab once a position is closed when I test it on my end.

Are you referring to the sim101 account or perhaps a live account? The information for live accounts in the Control Center-->Accounts-tab is received from the broker API as per the link below.

Unfortunately buying power is not supported with Patsystems as per the link below.

but what happens when i buy and sell 5 times a contract with worth 300$ then my puying power goes down below zero
means:
initial buying power 1300$
trade 1 minus 300$ buying power
trade 2 minus 300$ buying power
and so on then i am after 5 trades in minus 200 dollars (if i in this case ignore gains or losses)
so the my day is over and i can not trade anymore?

please let me know what that means

Please check with your broker what will happen in such a situation. Your broker manages your trading account.

ok the broker always knows how much is in the live trading account and the system checks the margin etc...
but what about ninjatrader
when i go down with the buying power does the NT stop my possibility of trading?

NinjaTrader itself does not stop you from trading.

i only thought the the NT is also recognising the margin and how many contracts i am able to trade... according to my account
but in that case obviously the broker has an eye on it and not the NT
