NinjaTrader Direct Edition

Is it possible to export a custom strategy from a live version of NT7 and load that strategy into Ninja Trader Direct Edition and run it?

If so what is the correct way to export the strategy from the live version of NT7?

Is it Utilities/ExportScript/

Should I export as source or assembly ?

Thank you for your note.


Yes you may Export your Strategy the import this Strategy into your other version of NinjaTrader. When Exporting to be sure you can edit the strategy after importing please export using "Export selected source files".

Once Exported the file can be found in Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->bin-->Custom-->Export NinjaScript.

To import you will go to File-->Utilities-->Import NinjaScript-->Select the file and click Open.

It gives me a message that strategies are unavailable and to upgrade ninjatrader with the Ninja Trader Direct Edition
