How do I keep menus from "popping" open?

That popup animation when I open menus is driving me crazy. I don't see an option to turn it off in Options.

Is it possible to turn it off? If so, how does one do it?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you please clarify what animation is being displayed and what option is selected when this occurs.

I look forward to assisting you further.

Hi Chris, I don't seem to be able to attach a screencast, but...

I see the popping menus when I am in the Control Center and click on File, Tools, Help, etc.

I also see it on the submenus such as File | New, Workspaces, Connect, etc.

And if I'm in the chart window and click on Period, Chart type, Drawing tools, etc.

Pretty much everywhere where you open a menu with more than one option rather than a new window.

Rather than opening like I would expect a menu to, which is just dropping down, the menu opens by doing some goofy animation where it "pops" open and take a short time to resize itself.

I thought this was maybe a Windows Setting, so I went to Perf. Information and Tools | Adjust visual effects and turned everything off. Still seeing the same behavior.

          Hi AXELGREASER,

Thanks for posting this video - I see what you mean.

Can you clarify for me which operating system you're using?

            Kyle -

I'm trying to get NT running on a Mac using Parallels. (Win 7 HP is the Win version I'm running)

This turns out to be a setting that in Parallels. I have no idea why they turned this on by default because it doesn't emulate how menus work on a Mac.

If any other Parallels users are frustrated by this, you can turn it off by going to

Preferences | General | Appearance and uncheck "use animations"

            Thanks!
