    Problem with Uploading FTSE data...

    Hi,

I have uploaded FTSE 100 stock symbols through the stock symbol import function.

Ninjatrader appears to clearly be able to read these through the Market Analyzer. They are being fed from Yahoo.

However it cannot read them through the charting function, and therefore is unable to backtest trading strategies on the data.

Anyone have any ideas of how to amend this so I can run historical backtests on the newly imported FTSE 100 data?

    All replies appreciated.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you tell me what symbol you have selected and the time interval chart being used. Keep in mind Yahoo only provided End of Day Daily data for Equities which may only be used for Daily, Weekly, Month and Year charts.

I look forward to assisting you further.

      Hi Chris,

I am using the EOD chart and have checked to make sure that is the right one.

A few symbols that I have uploaded for the FTSE 100:

      TSCO.L
      VOD.L
      AMEC.L
      BP.L
      BARC.L

The Yahoo link for each of these stocks is contained within their respective file on Ninjatrader so the programme can clearly recognize what they are. As I said, Ninjatrader also displays the prices on Market Analyzer. It appears to be having trouble reading the charts.

      Thanks for your help.

        Hello joeydisco,

I tested the TSCO.L on my end and I was able to load daily data in a chart. Can you please check if you setup the TSCO.L the same.

          Hi Jason,

I had originally uploaded all the symbols with .L at the end as instructed to by a previous guide on this website.

However when I uploaded them again and left out the .L Ninjatrader was able to read the charts and run backtests on them.

E.G. I uploaded as TSCO instead of TSCO.L.

Things appear to be working fine now.

          Thanks for your assistance.

I'm sure I'll be along soon to bother you all with new queries.
