    INTERACTIVE BROKERS setup

    Hi,

    since I'm still waiting for my log-in details from Rosenthal ( for my Zen-Fire data)
    I wanted to get data using my IB, which is still active ( simulated accoutn, but live data)

    Following the;
    NinjaTrader Connection Guide for Interactive Brokers

    the last item in step 4 is;
    Set the "Socket port" value to 7496 ( i do so & also click apply and ok....)


    Now in step 9 ( Provider: Select "Interactive Brokers" from the list)


    it doesn't show Interactive Brokers only; demo, external feEd, kinetick end of day, market replay sim data feed)


    What is the problem ( why doesn't he recognize IB?)

    Rob, that's likely related to the license key you're using for NinjaTrader - could you please email this to support at ninjatrader dot com so we can look into further?

              New message adter setup and trying to connect:

              Login failed: IB. Adapter. MessageLoop No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1 : 7496

                You're welcome Rob, can you please try setting the 'Host (optional)' field from 127.0.0.1 to localhost in your NT IB account connection?

                Then retry connecting and ensure the API is enabled on your TWS.

                  same if i delete that host and delete teh 127.0.0.1 than teh mssage says that it refused 192.168. etc etc my ip address plus 7496

                      So you're working with TWS 921.5 and NT7 R10 here and have also enabled the TWS API (so it would accept connections) as outlined in the IB connection guide we have?

                        TWS 4.0 and Ninja 7.0.1000.10

                        I used it before to connect via API to other software ( TC CLIENT)

                          Rob, it would need to be the exact supported version as mentioned in our connection guide for IB, this would be currently the TWS 921.5, you can see this under the build # in TWS's About screen.

                          So you're connected now with another client / software to this TWS already, is this correct?

                          In this case you would need to ensure this client does not use Client Id of 0 (as this is NT's default) or change this field in the account connection for NT.

                            I'm not connected at present, last time was a few weeks ago. So, i will check if i have the latts version of TWS first.
