"Permanent" user drawing defaults

I would like to keep my fib drawing tools set to my user defaults forever and ever til the end of time. However whenever I upgrade or make a new template or workspace NT always makes my draw tools go back to the way it wants and I have to set up all my draw tools all over again and save them as default again until the next time it decides to override my preferences. I have spent countless hours in NT resetting my draw preferences.
I am also currently using an indicator that places a fib on the day's range, but now it is broken in 6.5.5 and reverts to NT's fib defaults regardless of how I set it up. Is there a way to "hack" NT so that I NEVER HAVE TO MESS WITH MY DRAW TOOLS AGAIN and it always defaults to the way I like it across different versions, templates and workspaces? This issue is ongoing since I started NT months ago and its getting really annoying.

Please follow the steps which are desribed in:

The defaults for drawing tools are saved in the default workspace. It is saved there, when you push the 'set default' button in the drawing object property dialog.

This should:
- not change, when you go to an other workspace
- change (set to start settings), when you delete the Default.xml
- chart template should not have an influence on settings of drawing tools
- although we can not exclude, that under some conditions, you lose your settings on update (when objects change because of development improvements)
