email on "connection Lost"

I would like to set up a way to notify me if my connection is lost. Ideally an audible alarm and also an email. Can anyone help here?

Unfortunately it is not supported natively in NinjaTrader. However this is possible via custom coding a NinjaScript code.

It will be a strategy. The OnConnectionStatus event get triggered when any your connection gets connected/disconnected.

You can use the SendMail function to send the email

can Strategies write text to the chart? I wanted to make an indicator to show connection status on the chart, but I'm not sure that OnConnectionStatus() works with indicators since it only mentions strategies in the Help

Hello NinjaCustomer,

Correct, OnConnectionStatus() is going to be used for Strategies but you can still use Drawing objects like DrawText to be able to draw on a chart using a Strategy for your logic.
