Problem with Simulator Reset - NT Hangs

I am having trouble with NT once I reset my simulator data, NT hangs for a minute, two or sometime three minutes and then returns.

From the Control Center, I go to Tools > Options > Simulator tab and choose 'Reset Simulator' with the clear history option checked.

I have also recently (1 week ago) Repaired the DB.

Control Center -> Tools > Options > Misc > Repair DB.

Suggestions???

It depends: if you had thousands of orders/trades etc. in your sim account I could imagine that it takes a while until NT comes back on reset.

The primary issue is: does is come back at all (afetr a while) or is it hung "forever" (and you had to kill by task manager)? If the latter then this would be an issue to look into.

I comes back after a couple of minutes. It is just taking longer and longer to return.

I repaired the DB at the beginning of the week to clear out my trades which improved the delay but it is still an issue.

Hmm...

- are you on latest NT6.0.1000.7 or NT6.5.0.4?
- what are your machine specs (processor, RAM etc.)

I am on NT 6.0.1000.7

Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 2.6GHz
2GB RAM
Vista :-(

Let's do this: next time before you want to reset the sim account (which presumable would take a few minutes), pls mail me your DB by Help->Mail to support (subject "for Dierk") referring to this thread.

On the indicators: If you still experience issues after next NT6.5 (out over the weekend), please set up a new forum thread with an issue report. Thanks

I go between Live and Sim throughout the day so let me get a few additional trades in there before I reset again.
