    Hello,

It would be very difficult to convert this data to work in NinjaTrader without custom programming as the format is MMDDYYYY, but we required it in YYYYMMDD.

Can you please clarify where you obtained this data? Are there any options for reformatting the date?

        Hello,

##-## continuous contact would only refer to Futures contracts.

For a Forex symbol, you would want to name the file $USDJPY.Last.txt

The format the data should be in should be yyyyMMdd;open price;high price;low price;close price;volume

The format the data can be change with http://pitrading.com/ascii2nt ?

          or with http://csved.sjfrancke.nl/?

          or with an another method?

USDJPY already exists in the database. You should not need to add this as an instrument. You will just need to import that data for the instrument from the txt file.

Yes, the ascii2nt should convert it into NinjaTrader format.

Once it is set, you will want to import the file named USDJPY.Last.txt

Please see our Help Guide on Understand Import File and Data options for more information:

                Hello,

The date format needs to have a semi colon between the Date and the Open price

                19710104;357.73000;

However I also noticed that your file is missing a closing value, where it is using a value of 0 which cannot be used. There is also an additional "0" at the end of the line.

                  hi

                  pitrading give me the answer:

"The ASCII2NT utility is used for the 1 minute historical data, not the free end-of-day data.

For the free, end-of-day data, please use the EOD utility provided on our server:

                  http://pitrading.com/eod2nt "

But when I open a chart I can't have candlestick before 1998. only point on

the chart. do you know if I make a mistake during the import?

how can i verify start date/bars back?

                  thank you

                    Hello,

You should be able to verify the start point by going to Tools--> Historical Data Manager--> Edit tab

Do the values listed here for the USDJPY correspond with the values in your text file? Can you get these same values in a chart using a custom range?
