Unable to display 1 indicator on 2 data series within 1 chart

I have a TF 5 min. data series and an NQ 5min. data series on 1 chart.

I am able to display a 20 EMA on 1 chart but not the other, but would like to display it on both. I have attempted to do this but have not been able to.

    Please see attachment and advise.

    Thank you.

    Hi Breakout,

    Thanks for writing in.

Two properties in the Indicators menu are critical for your setup:

1.) Panel: This property determines which part of the chart an indicator would display in. You'll be able to move the SMA to panel 2 where your other price bars are currently via this property.

2.) Input Series: When selected a '...' button will appear. Click this button to open a menu where you'll be able to select to base the new SMA on the TF or NQ data series.

If you have remaining questions after testing with these two properties please let me know.

I am only able to get the indicator in the NQ OR the TF. I want the indicator to be in both NQ and TF.

I see - thanks for clarifying, breakout!

Two indicators would ultimately need to be added, one for each panel.

Yes, I have tried to do this, but here is what's happening:

1.When I enter the EMA info for the TF in the Indicators menu, panel 1, input series TF, the EMA shows up on the TF data,

2.When I enter the EMA info for the NQ, panel 2 ,input series NQ, the EMA shows up on the NQ data BUT the EMA that was on the TF data previously is now gone.

Please instruct me how to do this properly.

            Hello,

By the sound of it, you are modifying the same instance of the indicator - you would need to add two instances of SMA:

Open the indicators menu and select SMA from the list on the upper left, click New.
Re-select SMA from the list on the upper left and press new a second time to add the second instance of SMA.

Yes, that was the problem. Thanks Kyle!
