IB and Historical Data

I woke up and my computer had decided to do an auto update on me which I thought I had turned to off. Anyway, I had to reopen charts, reconnect, and I have a big chunk of data missing. IB is my data provider, and I trade only spot currencies - am I doing something wrong or does IB not provide data to fill that gap?

Hello jmflukeiii,

Please right click in the chart and select 'Reload All Historical Data'. Check if the missing data is loaded.

Be aware that historical tick data is not supported with IB. So any tick based charts will not be able to load the missing data.

That option is grayed out so I can't select it....

Then likely you have a tick based chart. If this is a minute or daily chart, please try a disconnect/reconnect of IB in NinjaTrader.

I'm using a renko chart.... that shouldn't change the fact that prices existed during that time period should it?

Renko bars are build by tick data, so it is as expected that you cannot reload historical data.
