Hello!

what does this msg mean:

"unable to load server side config file. operation has timed out"

and what should be done about.

I am running 2 of my strategies and never got this before

any help appreciated

This message usually indicates that something is blocking access to our servers.

Please forward your log and trace files to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Patrick" in the subject line.

In the message, please include the following:
1.) A link to this forum thread.
2.) Your most current trace and log files.

You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace > trace.20120410.txt

Log file will be located by going to My Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.20120410.txt

i turned my modem off for a few hours to do some testing of some things. Each hour i got the message "unable to load server side config file: The operation has timed out". I just want to know what information is contained within the "config file"? what type of config file is this and what is it for, what is in the file. i prefer not to have unknown files downloaded from ninja server onto my PC. thank you in advance.

Thank you for your post.

This is usually seen in cases of connection items preventing you from connecting to the NinjaTrader servers for licensing and/or historical data. The Server Side Config File contains the connection points for your PC to connect to the NinjaTrader servers. It is downloaded each time you start up NinjaTrader.

Can you please restart NinjaTrader and check if the error recurs. If not, you are connected to the NinjaTrader server.

If the error persists, please send me your log and trace files. Log and trace files can be found at the following locations. Please attach the files in your email.

Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20150819 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)
