Send Signal from DLL or COM and Have NT Conditionally Execute

Is it possible to have external signals generated from an external program via the NT DLL or COM interface, but have NT use an algorithm for the position size and initial stop - perhaps even not trade the signal depending on certain parameters?

What function would be used to send the signal?

It looks like I'd need to use the PLACE command (see here), but it appears that requires a quantity field. I'd like NT to determine the quantity based on a custom NT strategy.

Is this possible?

Real Time Quotes from My Custom App

Thanks, Ray. Some follow up questions:

1. Is this feature planned for a future version? It would be great to be able to do this.

2. This means that my program will have to have access to real-time quotes to determine position size and stop placement. Can I use NinjaTrader to get quotes from my application and then send the order to NinjaTrader?

3. If not, how do most automated strategy traders get real time quotes within their application?

Can that be used to get historical intraday quotes? I won't know what instrument I'll need quotes for until I receive a signal from my application.
