GCM2 loading backfill data for GCJ2

I switched from the April GC to the June GC contract today, but NinjaTrader shows the backfill data for the April contract and then updates with June's live data (via TT FIX). In reading some of the other forum posts, it seems it might be an issue with NT's rollover date. NT has 2012.03.30 for the GCM2 rollover. In addition to this date being late, in my opinion, it seems odd behavior for NT to load backfill data for anything other than what I have specifically entered (GCM2 in this case).

1) Is this expected behavior?

2) Beyond having to constantly update NT's rollover dates to match my own, is there a way to get the proper backfill data?

Hello,

Yes, this would be expected behavior if you have the merge policy enabled.

If you wish to prevent this from ever occurring, you can turn off the merge policy. This is done by going to Tools--> Options--> Data tab--> set the merge policy to "DoNotMerge"
