Interesting spikes for NZD.USD currency pair connecting to IB

Hello Thomas,

I will send an email to our technical support lead regarding the issue. When I test it on my end again, I experience the same bad tick.

Unfortunately, the tick filter will only work for real-time data so it will not help for this since the bad tick is loaded as historical data.

Once there is news regarding the matter, I will let you know.

The bad tick occurs in TWS as well, see screenshot.

By default, TWS uses midpoint instead of the bid/ask. NinjaTrader forex charts are build by bid data. Once you set the TWS chart to use bid/ask, you will see the bad ticks as well.

Open the Chart Settings menu in TWS and set 'What to show' to Bid/Ask instead of Midpoint.

This is the feedback from IB:

Please be advised that our hours for FX IDEAL PRO are between 17:15 to 17:00 EST and FX trading is closed for 15 minutes from 17:00 to 17:15 ES as we reset our systems. However, NZD is an exception in which the currency remains to be traded during this closing period. For this reason, the FX currency pairs with NZD is vulnerable to wide spreads and spikes during this period as the market is illiquid.
