How Is An Indicator Calculated in Real Time?

Just a quick question to better understand how ninjatrader works.

I connect first to Kinetick then connect to Patsystems. I enable my strategy then open a 1 minute price chart with volume.

Is the indicator that my strategy is based on reading the price data from Kinetick or from Patsystems?

Is my price chart reading the data from Kinetick or Patsystems?

My connection to Patsystem consists of both the host and price servers.

Hello,

The first connection in order is the primary connection will be used for your real-time and historical data.

The second connection is your brokerage connection and is used for routing orders. Data from this connection will not be used if the data is available from the primary connection.

Understand that my chart data will come from Kinetick.

But does this also mean that the quote and price data in the orders tab also comes from Kinetick?

Is it safer if I were to remove the price server connection to Patsystems and only keep the host server connection? Will I still be able to execute trades?

By the way, I did consult the help files. Just that I realize that the price data in the orders tab is definitely not equal to chart data. Chart data shows volume of a few thousands every minute which is impossible based on what I see in the orders tab last done trades. So I want to confirm and understand what's going on here.

Yes, all of the price data will come from the Primary connection.

I don't believe you'd be able to establish a connection if you removed the price field from Patsystems.

As long as you are connected to Kinetick first, all of your charts, indicators, etc will work from Kinetick data.
