    Optimizer not taking trades

    I posted this on another forum, wrong one i think. My strategy backtests really well, so i wanted to optimize the trade management, but it won't produce any trades....it must be something simple...Any ideas guys?

    CanOz, please try as well with the default SampleMACrossOver and the optimizer, would this take trades for the chosen paramters ranges you try?

      No, funny enough the Sample MA crossover doesn't take any trades either.

        Thanks, same after you restart NT7 fresh?

        If yes, please try repairing the NT install under the Windows Control Center and then retest on the SampleMACrossOver.

          It still doesn't work after the restart and i'm not sure i follow you on the repair?

            Thanks, the suggestion was to repair your NT installation - this can be done under the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features - just right click on the NinjaTrader 7 install shown there and select 'Repair'.

              ok, did that, but still no luck...no trades showing up on the MA cross

                Have you perhaps saved a default for the time frame type you're testing that would set the markers to 'DoNotPlot' here?

                If you backtest the strategy normally from a chart - any different behavior seen? Would trades show here, does the data look correct?

                  Hi guys, a followup on this issue. I cannot get my Hang Seng historical data to plot on a chart, or backtest. Its all there in the history file.....

                    What contract expiry are you plotting at this time? 03-12 or 04-12? Would you see the same if you tried this symbol with a 'DoNotMerge' setting under Tools > Options > Data?

                      I'm using a continuous contract.

                      I've gone to live trading now Bertrand...can you give me a bunch of stuff to try in the morning when i'm back on Sim......then I'll get back to you again tomorrow evening my time.

                          Hi Bertrand, i've got the data working now...it seems its related to the time zone somehow. When i used 24/7 it used the data no worries....on the HSI anyway...will continue testing.
