Ninjatrader Direct Edition

I have a ninjatrader direct edition through a broker. It does not have the feature that allows me to edit an indicator or compile the indicator. When I tried adding an indicator today, I received an error that stated I had programming errors with an indicator. How to I find what indicators that need to be resolved??

Hello,

You will need to temporarily input a free simulation license key under Help--> License key.

You can register for a free simulation license key from the following link:

http://www.ninjatrader.com/download-registration.php

Once you have a sim key entered, this will give you access to the Edit NinjaScript menu and allow you to dig deeper into the errors that are present.

Don't take this personally, but this is a terrible solution to this problem...I don't understand why one would have to do this....please allow the option to edit an indicator in the next updated version.

The license you are using is a Direct Edition License. It allows you to trade live without purchasing a Live Edition License. This functionality to trade live without purchase means that certain features, such as editing NinjaScript files, OCO orders, Chart Trader, ATM strategies, etc are not included as part of the license. There a multiple ways which to handle this issue:

1. You can upgrade to a Live Edition License which allows you to trade your live account and includes all features of the NinjaTrader application.

2. You can use the Free Edition License which has all features of NinjaTrader, but does not have the ability to trade a Live account
