Ninjatrader 7 keeps restarting TWS but not connecting

Dear sir, madam,

I viewed the forum to find an answer to my question but can't find it in the current version of ninjatrader. I seem to have an old problem regarding previous versions.

I got the right ninjatrader version (7.0. 1000.9) and the right tws version (921.5). Also I followed the installation page several times and can't find anything that I did wrong. I reinstalled ninjatrader and tws twice now, but still the same problem.

So my problem is: I want to make a new connection with interactivebrokers and ninjatrader starts TWS and fills in my username and password. TWS starts up and is connected to the internet (cause data is green), but it doesnot connect to my ninjatrader and after half a minute it shuts off and starts up again and shuts off again and this goes on untill I shut down ninjatrader.

I hope there is a easy sollution to this problem.

Hello Rommen,

Thank you for your post.

Please open TWS manually > go to Edit > Global Configuration > API > Settings > ensure that 'Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients' is enabled.
Once complete, shut down TWS and attempt to connect through NinjaTrader.

You will find that file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder - the file needed would be named 'trace.20120306.txt'.
