Running a strategy on a chart with multiple data series.

    Hi,

I have a problem when I try running a strategy on a chart with multiple data series.
On the next example (you can see the screenshot) I open two FGBL charts. The first is a 5 min chat, and the second one is a 15 min chart.

I need running a strategy on the 5 min chart and another strategy on the 15 min chart.

The problem is that I can only see the trades (arrows and entry and exit prices) on the first chart, however, I would need to watch each strategy on the corresponding chart.

Please, can I do something to solve this?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Plaket,

    Thanks for your note.

Unfortunately the orders are only plotted to the main data series panel. You can however overlay the bars. I have attached a sample workspace to show you how to do this. Please unzip it and put the XML file in My Documents / NinjaTrader 7 / workspaces, you can then load it using File > Open Workspace.

      Hi,

Can you give me reference code for doing that in Ninjascipt?

      Best regards,

        Hello kucharek,

        Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately, the plotting of executions are only displayed on the main data series.

As Adam stated, if you wanted to view the plotting of the executions on both data series, you can use the Overlay function in the Data Series window.

Please see my attached screen shot for an example.

          I understand.

I just want to generate such or similar view in backtest. Most important to me is to generate a chart in backtest with two data series - can be one below another. I do not know what ninjascript code is suitable for adding second data series to a chart.

            kucharek,

Unfortunately you cannot add a visual second data series through NinjaScript. This is a chart visual effect not available in the Strategy Analyzer.
