Strategy Analyser Locking NT up

When i am using the S.Analyzer NT will lock up for no apparent reason. Even after the optimizer run is finished. The same thing happens on market replay. I spend half my day rebooting.

Hello CanOz,

Does the issue occur when you optimize the SampleMACrossOver strategy on the same amount of historical data and using the same amount of optimization parameters?

Does each test you perform lock up NinjaTrader? Even if you perform a backtest on one month of minute data?

Could it be the lock up only occurs when a certain strategy is used?

No its a custom strategy. I think its time for a new PC. How long should it take to load 2 months worth of data and back test a simple strategy? It takes me 15 minutes!

Amibroker used to do it 30 seconds or less....Interne is faster here too.

I've only tried range data so far. Its ok now to back test but i don't dare touch the charts for fear of lock up.

Loading two months of historical tick data can take a while to load. It will be faster if you backtest on two months of historical minute data.

When I backtest the SampleMACrossOver strategy on two months of historical minute data (ES 03-12), it takes about 10 seconds to finish. The same backtest on historical tick data took about 5 minutes.

Yeah, i could use minute data....I'll give it a go.
