    Individual Price Alerts

I want to set alerts for individual stocks in the market analyzer window.
    For example:
Stock#1 is at 27.13 & when its price reaches 27.25 an alert is triggered.
Stock#2 is at 9.28 & when its price reaches 9.40 an alert is triggered.
Stock#3 is at 35.42 & when its price reaches 35.28 an alert is triggered.
    etc, etc.

I DO NOT want to use individual charts for each stock with the price alert indicator.

    (1) Is this possible in the market analyzer window?

    (2) If not, are there plans to enable this functionality to the market analyzer window in the future?

    (3) If not, is there a way to do it programatically by accessing the instrument and last price in the market analyzer window with an indicator?

    Thanks

    Hello Romulan,

    This is possible.

To do this you will need to

Open a Market Analyzer window by going to File > New > Market Analyzer

Right click in the Market Analyzer window and select Add Instrument, and add the instrument

Right click in the Market Analyzer window and select Columns

In the Columns window select Last Price

Then select Alert Condition and click on the '...' button

In the Alert Condition window select New

The select Sound file and click on the '...' button to select a sound file

Then place the price in the Value field and Press OK and Apply

The link below is to the Creating Alert, Filter and Cell Condtions section of our help guide.

I have 10 different stocks in my market analyzer window. It seems I can only set ONE alert for the whole column which does me no good.

I want an individual alert FOR EACH STOCK. Each CELL must have a uniqe price that triggers the alert.

      Please read my question again.

      Thank you

        Hello Romulan,

You will be able to set up multiple alerts.

To do this you will need to go to the Alert Conditions window and click on New to set up additional alerts.

Again, I have 10 stocks in the Market Analyzer window. I followed your instructions and set an alert for "last price". If a try to set another alert for "last price" by clicking on "New" I can not because it is "dimmed out".

I have 10 stocks in the Market Analyzer window. Each stock must have a separate and unique alert set for each CELL for the Last Price.

If there is a way to do this I still can't figure out how. Totally confused.

            Hello Romulan,

After you set up an alert the New button becomes grayed out?
Could you please supply me with a screenshot?

                Hello Romulan,

Press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and attach the file to your reply by clicking on the paperclip icon.

It seems that I can only attach an alert to the "Last Price" column only once!

OK - That works. I now have 10 alerts on "Last Price".

Stock #1 is currently at 38.00 and I want an alert to trigger for #1 when the last price for #1, AND #1 ONLY, reaches 38.10.

Stock #2 is currently at 38.05 and I want an alert to trigger for #2 when the last price for #2, AND #2 ONLY, reaches 38.15.

If stock#2 reachs 38.10 will it trigger an alert?? Will it trigger another when it reaches 38.15? How is any one alert attached to a specific stock?

                        Hello Romulan,

Unfortunately, there's no way to specify different values depending on the instrument. Market analyzer alerts are setup by a specific column. If you want to set alerts per instrument, you will want to open multiple Market Analyzers.
Fortunately, there's not much overhead on a market analyzer. It will vary of course based on days to load, specific instruments, and the indicators applied.

I thought the romulan was amazingly patient with you here mate. His question was pretty clear in the first place and after all that the answer is no it cannot act like a market analyzer should. Having multiple market analyzers up is ridiculous and its something NT should address.

                            Hi,

Has there been any changes in NT to allow multiple alerts to be setup as discussed in this thread, each for individual instruments?

                            For example:
If 6E goes above X, alert
If ES goes below Y, alert
If CL goes above Z, alert

If this is not possible im not too sure what the point of the MARKET analyzer is. It should then rather be called Indicator analyzer.

Will this be added to NT 8 if it is not possible now? Or better yet, add it now to NT7?

Opening multiple market analyzer windows is beyond being a hassle.

                              Hello DarkPool,

You will need to open multiple Market Analyzers to assign an alert to a specific instruments. Currently the alerts are set for the column.

I can forward the suggestion to our development team for consideration in a future release of NinjaTrader.
