Daily Candles with IB and Kinetic

Good Morning:

I have an issue when using a Kinetic as the historical data feed for IB, the daily candles do not display properly on the current open session. This happens on all instruments.

Example: If I load a daily chart of the ES and the current price is 1349, all the chart displays is the single mark at the price level for today's candle. Attached are two screen shots, one with IB and Kinetic together and Kinectic standalone. You can see the Kinetic standalone candle reflects the proper OHLC.

Note, using either IB or Kinetic standalone produces a daily bar that has the correctly drawn candle during the current session.

Account setup for IB has Historical Data set to Disabled.

Get data from server is checked.

IB is started first and Kinetic second.

I am currently using the latest 7.0.1000.9 with IB TWS 921.5 with a Kinetic subscription. It was also doing this on .8 with TWS 916.

All minute data appears ok, only the daily candles appear to be an issue.

Thanks for reporting it I could reproduce the same at my end.

Can you confirm that if you make Kinetick your primary connection and Interactive Brokers as your secondary connection could you still have the same issue or not.

If Kinetic is loaded first, the daily candles are drawn correctly.

Since historical data is disabled in IB, Historical data is being pulled from Kinetick. But since IB is the first connection realtime data is being pulled from IB. IB do not provides the opening price in its live feed which is needed to build the current daily bar. As such the current daily bar is never build. You have to use Kinetick as the primary connection and IB as the secondary connection.
