Kinetick and IB live connection

Hi, I just purchased NinjaTrader. I have a live IB account and a subscription to Kinetick.

I established a connection to IB with Kinetick as the backup. It looks like it's making the connection to IB because the Positions tab shows my existing positions. But, I have three problems with the connection:

1. I can't select the IB account from the Hot Keys section of the chart.
2. I can't connect a strategy to the IB account. From the Strategies tab, New Strategy, and Account only shows Sim101.
3. I get historical data pacing errors when enabling a few strategies against the Sim101 account, so it's not using Kinetick.

Any ideas?

Hello egan857,

Thanks for supporting NinjaTrader with a live license purchase. Make sure you have disabled global simulation mode from theFile menu. This will then allow you to submit orders to your live account and select it in strategy interface.

You will want to initiate separate connection to both Kinetick and IB at the same time. Whichever connection you use first will be used for data, so make sure Kinetick is first. More information on how NinjaTrader works with multiple connections is available here:

OK, that did it.

FYI for anybody searching through the posts, I have two connections: one for IB and one for Kinetick, both of which have the logon information for their respective accounts. I thought that connecting to IB with Kinetick as a backup was good enough, but no. I had to disconnect everything, then connect to Kinetick, then connect to IB.
