I've been hopelessly trying to get a chart up of Royal Dutch Shell, traded on the NYSE.
I suspect it's the rather ambiguous quote name that creates the problem. My Interactive Brokers account lists the stock as:
Royal Dutch Shell PLC-ADR
Underlying: RDS A
Exchange: SMART
Primary Exchange: NYSE
I've tried getting RDSA, RDS A, RDS.A, RDS-A, RDS_A but none of them seem to work. I can get every other chart from pretty much any other stock working, daily hourly whatever, but Shell seems to want to escape from my attempts. It always returns me with the error message that "No security definition has been found for the request (200)". I think it might be that Ninjatrader doesn't allow spaces, whereas in IB I type in "rds a" to get the stock I want, Ninjatrader auto-corrects this to "rdsa". Any help on this would be appreciated.
