    overlay tick

    Hi

I'm trying to overlay tick data on a chart to integrate it into one chart. I've had a look at the tutorials but still cant figure it out, can anyone help?

Welcome to our forums - which series would be you looking to mix then? For example a minute chart and a tick chart? Once a MultiSeries chart is created you could drag one series and move it into the panel of the other to overlay them.

      thanks for the reply

Yeah that's it, I'm basically trying to get a 1min ym chart with a 1 min tick at the bottom but all in one chart screen.

Please see for example the attached, this has the YM added as 1 tick series as well but visualized as Line On Close, as otherwise the single tick prints are hard to see.

Then you would first of all need a provider that would support index based data.

For the display you would then select the overlay scale justification for the TICK series, so it would not disrupt your primary YM series scaling >> I've included a short clip below to deomonstrate the options you have here with NT:

Sorry one last thing. I want to add horizontal lines to the tick section and save the template so the lines are temperament so I don't have to add them each time. I there a way this can be done?

Great to hear - yes, you could draw horizonal lines via F6 on your charts.

I need them permanently, I want add the line at 1000/-1000 in the $tick section but I want them to stay there when I close the chart, I don't want to have to add them again every time I open the template.

For this you would need to save the chart setup in a workspace file, this way the next time you open your NT the charts with the trendline levels are reopend / persisted.

Who are you using for $tick?

                          Kinetick?

does it work? 1500 to -1500

Yeah kinetick. It works fine for me, I haven't seen +1500 for a while, I saw a -1500 before xmas so yeah seems to be fine.
