    Cleaning up db/data folder

I only use NT for routing my orders to my broker as I use another program for charting. I noticed that my NinjaTrader 7 folder under my documents was about 5GB. So, I manually deleted all the historical data under the data manager. Yet, under the db/data folder there are folders for every day in the past year, and these contain .ntm and .nt2 files. These are cumulatively taking up about 2.5GB of space. Is it safe to delete these folders? Is the best way to just do this manually, or is there a preferred way through the program?

    Hello JoshDance,

    Thank you for your post.

The files you are looking at are Market Replay data files and you can delete this straight through the Windows navigator. You can turn off recording of replay data by going to Tools --> Options --> Data --> uncheck "Record for Market Replay"

One more related question: under NT7/db I have the NinjaTrader.sdf file, but I also have NinjaTrader.Old.sdf and OLDNinjaTrader.sdf ... if I recall, I manually renamed my database file in the past and probably left these files there; assuming I have a safe backup now, is it safe to delete these two old files?

          Hello JoshDance,

Yes, you can safely delete these files. The .sdf file named "NinjaTrader" in the db folder is the database file that NinjaTrader will use.
