Strategy Accessing Wrong Account

I checked the help guide and tried a number of steps but am stumped. I am running a strategy and paper trading it to my Interactive Broker Account (paper trading account). Interactive broker calls the account DU177890. I set up the account to log into that. However, when it executes the trades it executes them in some account called SIM101 and executes the trades there. How do I change it so that it logs into my papertrading account and not this "phantom" account?

Hello cdnPATRIOT,

You will need to select your IB account in the strategy window that appears when you enable a strategy in a chart or Control Center-->Strategies-tab.

If you cannot select a different account than the sim101 account, you are likely using the free license key. Unfortunately you require a live license key to trade external accounts whether sim or live - the free version is limited to trade the sim101 account.

I'm considering purchasing NT and using it to trade my IB accounts. I have multiple IB accounts under one IB login. If I purchase the NT license, will I be able to trade more than one of my IB accounts?

Great question.

Yes, you will be able to access all IB accounts. While a single-broker license does limit you to a single broker, you could use as many accounts at that brokerage as you please.
