    Reinstallation question

    I want to do a clean reinstall of NT7 to resolve a custom dll file issue which neither I nor a much more experienced programmer can find.

    I have backed up the system, less my Ninjascript files (which will not back up via Ninja backup because of compilation errors relating to the dll issue).

    Is this the correct sequence, please ?

    * After Ninja backup, remove NT7 via Add/Remove programs.
    * Delete NinjaTrader 7 folder in Documents folder (and the 6.5 folder while I'm at it)
    * Download & install NT7
    * Download & install the non-standard indicators I use
    * How do I restore my Historical Data ?
    * How do I restore just some of my chart templates ?

    I will rebuild workspaces and ATMs from scratch.

    Hello,

    Yes, that would be the correct procedure - just make sure you do not delete the Documents\NinjaTrader Backup folder

    Your historical data should be backed up as long as you checked 'Historical Chart data' when backing up.

    If you only want to restore chart templates, please make sure you have checked only 'Templates' when creating the backup.

    Please let me know if you have additional questions.

      Matthew - I only want to restore certain templates, not all of them. Is it better to save the templates I want to keep elsewhere, or is it better to restore them all and then delete the ones I don't want (& if so, how, please) ?

        Hello,

        You cannot edit the contents of a backup.

        If you only want to backup certain templates, you will need to delete the ones you do not need/want.
