Is this normal with 6E data?

I am trying to test some of strategies on 6E using a 5 min chart. The challenge is I can see the tick moving only every 5 minutes - which means that chart gets update only 5 every 5 minutes instead of moving tick by tick like any other chart.

I am using demo ZenFire account and wondering if this normal?

Hello pandyav,

Can you please set 'Calculate on bar close' to False for your strategy. If suspect it is set to True, so the strategy is calculated at the close of each 5 minute bar. If set to False, the strategy will be calculated on each incoming tick.

I am sorry if I wasn't too clear. The challenge is I am not able to see the data displayed as the price moves. Please see that attached two pictures. The first picture is the one when the bar does not form as the price changes so what I have to do is to right click and reload the historical data and then you'll see a totally different picture (as you can see in picture 2)

I am not sure why the bar does not form itself as the price moves up or down?

Could it be the chart is not scrolled to the right. Please check the scroll bar at the bottom.

Please check if 'End date' is set to today's date in the Data Series menu of the chart.

Check if your PC clock is setup to the correct date and time as well.

Does it make a difference if you create a brand new chart?

So I checked the date and time and it is correct. Also, created a brand new chart and took two pictures Chart 3 at 1:03 PM and other one at 1:05 PM, as you can see the price stays the same. And I scrolled the bar to the right also.

On the other hand, I can see prices for ES moving without any problem and can see the bar forming. It is a challenge with 6E only.

Please open the Options menu's Data tab by clicking Tools > Options, then selecting the Data tab. What Merge Policy is in place?

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

Please set the Merge Policy to it's 'DoNotMerge' setting, then click OK. Next, open a new 6E chart - are you seeing the same behavior, or does your chart now update?

Are you sure you are Chartting the right Contract for 6E?

Your Images show 6E 03-12 Contract, but currently the highest trading volume is still in the 6E 12-11 Contract.
