newbie question about adding instrument for backtesting...

I'm testing out the free version of NT7.
I'm connected to 'Yahoo' and to 'Kinetick (End of day - free)'
I'd like to start backtesting some strategies on SPY.

From the control center, I do the following:
- File > New > Strategy Analyzer

I see a list of instruments on the left of the 'Strategy Analyzer' window, but there's no SPY and there are no etfs.

How do I get SPY to appear? so I can start playing around with some strategies?

Welcome to our forums vistas, you would need to add the SPY symbol first - you can also directly backtest the SPY symbol 'on the fly' - right click on the 'on the fly' symbol in your Strategy Analyzer (above the 'default' header on the left upper side) and enter SPY then in the Instrument parameter of your backtest window.
