    No Forex in Instrument Manager

Hello. Have hooked up NT to my IB account for data. All is well, except I can't see any forex pairs in the Instrument Manager. "Currency" isn't even an option in the Type dropdown. I've already gone to the "Data" tab and reset the instruments. No luck. Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your post.

Which build of TWS are you using? To check, please click Help > About Trader Workstation.

I'm using build 7.827.092. I downloaded it via the NinjaTrader site.

        Hello,

This is a strange version number. The number you should have is 917 that runs correctly with 7.0.1000.7.

However I see an option here that most likely got unchecked that would be the cause of this. Please go to control center->tools->account connections and then change the IB connection you are using and click next until you get to the configuration options for the connection. It is there where a trade currencies (FX) option needs to be checked to allow you to trade forex.

Please make sure this is checked.

I feel like I have a similar issue. I have an instrument setup in the "Instrument Manager" named "$GBPUSD" and just placed a trade (IB is my broker). I spoke to IB's customer service and they said it was a "currency conversion" trade and not a forex trade.

I went through the account connection and the forex option was already checked.

            What am I missing?

              Hello,

No missing anything. The instrument is setup in NT for currency trade.

I would need to have more information from IB on what a currency conversion trade exactly is.

Not sure why they would have two different types of Forex trades.

I spoke with IB's customer service again. Apparently, the first person was wrong... it was a normal fx trade as expected

                Thanks!
