Interactive Brokers ETF's

Hi I just connected my Interactive Brokers account to NT7 but cannot bring up any ETF's like SPY or QQQ's. It is bringing up stock charts and index things but where are my ETF's? I dont want to have to use TWS. Thanks.

When you try to pull up the ETF, exactly what symbol are you using in NinjaTrader?

Also what is occurring and is it giving you an error?

HI I am typing in Spy and it says unable to subscribe to market data: Please assign an additional exchange to this instrument in the Instrument Manager SPY Default

Also I can chart things like the Tick or AAPl just not any etf's

Hello,

For IB on these you will need to specify the exchange. Please go into the control center->tools->instrument manager and then edit the instrument in question. Here there is a exchange list, check mark the exchange that IB reports this instrument trades on.

Once this is done you will be able to pull data for it.

You clicked the new button. What you want to do is find SPY in the list and click the edit button.

nevermind i figured it out. I just have to type it into data series to get it in the list then got into instrument manager edit and choose the exchange. Its kinda complicated but it works.

Yea this method is best method for myself. You can use the new button in these cases but then you need to go to the misc tab and add the symbol IB uses unfer the symbol map for IB.
